HERITAGE

Follow the timeline of our brand's evolution and key milestones

The Beginning

Born to Fran and William in Georgetown, Guyana, our co-owner was steeped in scent early—citrus, spice, and rain-soaked earth. Candle-making by blackout glow became ritual, taught by kin, and lit the path to a future shaped by scent.
1983

Sunday Mornings

Sundays in 1980s Guyana moved slow—church clothes drying on lines, stew bubbling on kerosene stoves, and limacol baths at dusk. Streets were still, radios played soul and calypso, and blackouts meant candles, storytelling, and the scent of bay leaf, spice, and warm rain.
1980s

Brooklyn

Brooklyn in the ’80s buzzed with life—broom-swept stoops, curry on the stove, patwa and soca echoing from brownstone windows. Parents worked doubles, kids jumped rope on cracked sidewalks. Inside, plastic-covered sofas, Avon catalogs, and dreams of home scented every room with memory.
1989
From Guyana to Brooklyn in the ’90s—stoop games, double Dutch, loud kitchens, and louder aunties. Then Delaware: slower pace, new faces, same hustle. School meant navigating accents, lunchroom codes, and weekend chores. From city blocks to cul-de-sacs, they learned to blend, adapt, and hold tight to home, culture, and ambition.
1990s

Creative Life-Style

High School Bye A move back to NYC sparks a career in high-end fashion. The Co-Founder enters a world where creativity is currency and inspiration is everywhere.

The Luxury Fashion Years

Over a decade spent with fashion houses on Fifth and Madison Avenue. Here, she masters luxury service, storytelling, and the art of individuality through style.
2014-16
Returned to what her aunt taught her—candle-making by hand—while trading perfume stories with her mom over Skype. Each call blended memory with technique. Studying scent structure and the art of layering, she found her rhythm. What began as ritual soon became mastery—and from that, Lot 23 was born.

ABOUT

Brand Story

Rooted in memory, storytelling, and the slow art of scent, Lot 23 Chandler Co. was born from candlelit childhoods in Guyana, refined through the world of New York luxury fashion, and reimagined in Atlanta’s Historic West End.

More than a perfumery, Lot 23 is a portal—a place where fragrance becomes an experience, scent becomes story, and time slows down.

From bespoke perfumes crafted in intimate workshops to large-scale activations and private-label collaborations, every note, blend, and bottle carries a trace of heritage, creativity, and intentional design.

We believe scent is memory made visible. Through immersive blending sessions, olfactive storytelling, and high-touch service, we invite guests to craft fragrances that echo their past, express their present, and shape their future.

Brand Purpose

To reconnect people to smell the past, meaning, and self-expression through the transformative power of scent.

Brand Vision

To become the leading fragrance experience studio in the Southeast and beyond—known for redefining perfumery as an art form, a cultural archive, and a community ritual. We envision flagship spaces, mobile parfum bars, and global collaborations that celebrate heritage, elevate everyday moments, and scent the world with intention.

Brand Mission

To design unforgettable olfactive experiences that blend storytelling, craftsmanship, and personal connection. We serve individuals, communities, and brands through immersive workshops, scent-forward activations, and custom product development—anchored in inclusivity, creativity, and care.
